Oh God, My Wife Is German. 
Wait…who wouldn’t want to hug their dog? But, it would depend on the dog and its mood. Can’t ignore the dog’s feelings, right?

Hugging should be alright. What I don’t get is humans ‘kissing’ their dogs, meaning letting them lick their mouth (and maybe even even frenching them back).
