Denglish 41: My German Wife Requires Garlic

It Stinks!

"No! I love it! I swear!"

Sometime last year, The Wife and I were discussing our shopping list over the phone. We were planning to make a casserole and our list was nearly complete, but I asked if there were any additional items we might need. She responded thusly:

THE WIFE: “Oh, we do need garlic. We make it nasty with stink!”

  2. Well yeah, that is true … for some dishes we do add the extra portion garlic.

  3. Your German Wife is my German Husband:) Love garlic now. He says, If everybody stinks, then how does anyone know? Words of wisdom, bless him.

  4. I love how funny your posts managed to be in just a few short sentences. Bravo

  5. My family puts garlic on EVERYTHING. My husband tells people that when we were first married he would smell it from the driveway and know that I had been cooking. He doesn’t say he can smell it anymore. Nor does he complain that things are too garlicky. I’m converting him to the dark side.

  6. Garlic goes in every recipe.

    It just does.

  7. Ha ha! This is just what my German grandmother would say! This blog is hilarious!
